Marble Floor Restoration: Removing Lippage

When it comes to Dallas marble floor cleaning and restoration, you may have heard the term "lippage" before but what exactly does it mean?

Lippage
occurs when the stone becomes flattened from foot traffic. Over time, your marble floor will start to develop low spots and need to undergo a process known as honing.

Marble floor honing
is performed with a diamond grit polishing pad. The fine grit and hardness of the diamond pad levels and evens the floor giving you a perfectly flat and even surface.

After honing, a marble floor will be cleaned with a solution that will eliminate any grit or streaks left by the sander. After the floor has been honed and cleaned, the next step is to polish the floor and bring back the shine.

If a marble floor is properly maintained it can truly last a lifetime.
